Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has given his verdict on Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville.

Slot has said that he wanted to sign Summerville and has outlined why a transfer did not transpire.

So, what has Arne Slot said about Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville? Let’s take a look.

Arne Slot comments on Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville

Well, Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has been speaking about Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville.

Slot has said that he really wanted to sign Summerville from Leeds in the January transfer window.

The former AZ boss has noted that the 22-year-old Dutch winger is an interesting player and has admitted that he was too expensive for Feyenoord. Newcastle United were also linked in the January transfer window.

Slot told Voetbal Zone about Summerville, as transcribed by LeedsLive: “We have not been able to find a player who strengthens us in attack and who was feasible for us.

“Otherwise, he would have been there. It is not difficult to find such a player. I’ve said that before, because I can think of a lot.

“However, it must also fit within our financial possibilities. A player must want to come to us and have the will to play in the Eredivisie. I’ll just mention a name so you can write about it again.

“I would have liked to see Summerville on our side. But he is too expensive. I have found him an interesting player for a long time.”

My View: Crysencio Summerville is a big player for Leeds United

In my opinion, Leeds United were unlikely to consider a bid for Crysencio Summerville in the January transfer window. The 22-year-old winger has established himself as a big player in Daniel Farke’s team.

Summerville is an important source of goals for Leeds, who are in the running for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

The young Dutchman has made 25 starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship last season.

The winger, who cost Leeds £1.3 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Feyenoord in September 2020 (The Sun), has scored 12 goals and given seven assists in those games.

Last season, Summerville made 12 starts and 16 substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Whites, scoring four goals and providing two assists in the process.
