Alan Shearer has delivered his verdict on whether Leeds United can continue their strong recent run of form when they take on Brentford in the Premier League.
Daniel Farke is looking to continue a strong personal track record against Brentford, having lost just once against the Bees in his managerial career.
However, Leeds’ own poor form in London is a concern for Farke, as the Whites look for their first win in the capital since the 2021/22 season.
Ahead of the game, Shearer has explained why he believes Leeds will struggle, despite their recent Premier League resurgence.
Daniel Farke’s job is safe for now, can he get a result against Brentford? 🔮
Alan Shearer delivers Brentford v Leeds United prediction
Speaking in the Metro, Shearer delivered his prediction for the upcoming clash at the G-Tech Stadium, as Leeds look to continue their recent resurgence.
The Whites have taken the vast majority of their points at Elland Road this season, with their solitary three away points coming in a win over Wolves at Molineux.
Shearer believes that Leeds’ poor away record will count against them, as he backed the Bees to bounce back from their own poor recent run of form.
The former Newcastle star said: “It’s a huge game for both sides. Leeds had a great week against Chelsea and Liverpool.
“They’ve got character and are willing to fight, but I think it’ll be different away from home. I’ll go for a home win and for Brentford to bounce back.”

The goals have dried up for Keith Andrews’ Brentford
A win would see Leeds close the gap on Brentford to just one point after 16 games and pull Keith Andrews’ side firmly back into the relegation fight.
Brentford have experienced a similar travel sickness to Leeds, as they have the fourth-best home record in the top flight but have also picked up just one away win, according to the Premier League website.
Would you swap Daniel Farke for Keith Andrews as Leeds United manager? 🤔
The new Brentford boss has praised Leeds boss Daniel Farke 🐝
Andrews’ side are coming into the game in a barren run of form, having failed to find the net in their two most recent games against Tottenham and Arsenal, both of which were away from home.
The game against Leeds will show whether that was simply their poor away form, or a sign that their early momentum is beginning to falter as the season enters the busy festive period.
