Crysencio Summerville scored his 16th goal of the season on Tuesday night as Leeds United cruised past Swansea City to win 4-0 at the Liberty Stadium – and Michael Bridges is impressed with him.
The 22-year-old cut inside after good work from Georginio Rutter last night – which was praised by Gary Rowett – before lashing home a shot that was deflected into the net by Swansea midfielder Jay Fulton.
Not only did Summerville nab his 16th goal of the season, but the Dutch attacker also laid on his ninth assist of 2023-24 – creating the second of Willy Gnonto‘s two goals, who took his tally to five this term.
Speaking ahead of the match, former Leeds striker Bridges was huge in his praise of the pocket-sized winger on the Leeds United preview show. He spoke of his delight that Summerville chose to stay put.
“Cree has just gone to a new level with his finishing. We’re seeing him score all kinds of goals. We love this thunderbolts, hie bending shots into the bottom, top corners,” Bridges said before last night’s win.
“He’s shown he can dissect defenders with his pace, but he’s still got that composure. He’s getting better and better. This kid can go to a whole new level, thankfully he is at Leeds United,” Bridges added.

Summerville is showing the kind of form that will have plenty of suitors interested in the summer and failure to go up may tempt him into a move. But, that is for then and this is now. He’s starring for Leeds.
Ross McCormack said he’s the best player in the Championship and there seems little doubt about that right now. Perhaps, his form might even tempt The Netherlands next month, for the international break.
