Ross McCormack has taken to Instagram to tell Leeds United fans that Crysencio Summerville is the best player in the Championship – after his sensational brace in our 3-2 comeback win over Norwich.
Summerville, 21, took his tally to six goals and assists in nine Championship games on Saturday. With Leeds losing 2-0 at Carrow Road, Dan James’ cross-shot was inadvertently put into the back of his net.
But from that point on in, it was the Summerville show. His first, a gorgeous finish from the edge of the box off the post – after a short corner. A Willy Gnonto assist. The second, a quick counter attack.
Summerville drove Leeds up the pitch and used his teammates as decoys to create space – curling in a low shot. A 3-2 win, a brace for Summerville. Leeds were excellent and have now climbed to third.
Shortly after, Fabrizio Romano reminded Leeds fans – to their great displeasure – that Summerville was the subject of interest from Premier League clubs, and more are beginning to circle ahead of January.
McCormack: Leeds star Summerville is best in the Championship
Everton, Bournemouth and Burnley are said to have show interest in the summer, with Burnley even having a £20m bid rejected – as per Romano. Do not fret, Leeds fans. He has a contract until June 2026.
There is no pressure to sell him and Summerville himself, says he is happy at the moment. Leeds should be too, especially, following McCormack’s latest claim. On the Instagram post above, he commented.
McCormack said he is “fed up of telling yous”, before going on to say that Summerville – in his belief – is the best player in England’s second tier right now. Hard to argue, after Saturday’s second-half display.
