£7m Burnley star Zian Flemming shares what he really thinks of Leeds United and Elland Road

Burnley secured a 1-0 win over Leeds United on Saturday afternoon, succumbing Daniel Farke’s side to a first defeat of the Championship season after five games so far.

A game which saw Leeds boast the best chances and dominate most of the ball, but Burnley potent on the counter attack. Indeed it showed, with Luca Koleosho scoring the only goal of the game in the first 45.

A mistake from Manor Solomon saw 19-year-old Koleosho break free, and manage to run more than half of the pitch before slotting the ball home. Tony Dorigo criticised Jayden Bogle for not closing him down.

It had the feel of an important Championship fixture with both sides expected to be pushing for the top two at the end of the season. Daniel Farke and Scott Parker have both won promotion twice as managers.

Flemming thinks Leeds away is toughest game of the season

Dutch ace Flemming joined Burnley for a fee of £7m from Millwall in the summer, and he lasted the whole game as Parker’s men ran out 1-0 winners. He gave Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk plenty to think about.

Speaking to Burnley’s website after the match, the former Millwall ace said that going to Leeds and Elland Road is not easy and suggested that the trip to Farke’s side is actually the toughest fixture of the season.

“Those games need to have a bit of everything, this is not one that you’re just going to turn up and win. Obviously, Elland Road, Leeds, it’s one of the toughest, if not the toughest games of the season,” he said.

Farke needs to consider a few changes against Cardiff City

Leeds go to Wales next week as Wales internationals Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu, Karl Darlow, Charlie Crew and possibly Dan James if he’s fit go face to face with a number of teammates from their National Team.

Perhaps, James could come into the side if fit while Bogle’s lack of form needs to be addressed. The £5m signing has made a poor start to life at Leeds and new signing Isaac Schmidt could be given a chance.

In midfield, a bit of attacking freshness is required and perhaps a Joe Rothwell or an Ao Tanaka could come in to replace Ilia Gruev or perhaps even Ampadu, if the skipper has picked up an injury.
