Leeds United will be looking to get back to winning ways on Saturday against Coventry at Elland Road and Luke Ayling’s record against the Sky Blues should see him considered for a surprise start.
Ayling, 32, has been reduced to a fringe player at Leeds in recent weeks. The Elland Road veteran last started on October 4 for the Whites, last playing for Leeds as a substitute in the win over Leicester City.
Daniel Farke could decide to rotate his side given Coventry is our third game in the space of seven days, after games against Blackburn and then Sunderland. It could be that some players are given a rest.
Archie Gray‘s workload has come under the microscope this season already playing a huge 26 matches for club and country this term. Perhaps, he could do with a rest and Ayling’s record could see him start.
In five games against Coventry throughout his career, £750k man Ayling remains unbeaten – winning three times, drawing twice, keeping three clean sheets and conceding twice for Yeovil and Bristol City.

Sam Byram remains sidelined until the new year, and it is likely that Djed Spence retains his place on the left side of the defence. Jamie Shackleton is also out with a glute injury, missing the loss to Sunderland.
If Farke decides to make changes to the Leeds side that lost at Sunderland, which are likely given the hectic workload, surely he has to consider Ayling – given his incredible record against Mark Robins’ side.
Leeds desperately need a win, having fallen further behind Ipswich and Leicester – with the top two both picking up wins in the week. But Coventry are in good form too, beating Southampton in the week.
