Leeds United could kick off their transfer window with a statement signing in Daniel Farke’s pursuit of promotion to the Premier League.
The possibility of Leeds doing business this January has been growing by the minute, 19 players were linked with Leeds before the start of the window and the first could come sooner than expected.
Farke has been fairly reserved when discussing transfers but it seems like his views are aligned with that of the 49ers.
With a strategy in place for this window, a key signing could send shockwaves through the Championship.

Leeds United set to bid for Coventry City’s Ben Sheaf in statement from 49ers
Leeds United News understand that Leeds are ready to bid for Coventry City midfielder Ben Sheaf in January.
It is believed Coventry do have to keep on track with financial requirements and may have to consider a substantial bid for a star name and one of those attracting interest is Sheaf.
A number of Premier League clubs are keen on Sheaf, but Leeds are looking to bolster their squad in January and we can confirm that Sheaf is a player of real interest to The Whites.
It is believed Coventry would listen to offers in excess of £8 million for Sheaf, who has 18 months left on his current deal.
Ben Sheaf capture could propel Leeds United to the Premier League
Leeds have already got a squad built for a promotion push and adding in a player of Sheaf’s calibre could take them to another level.
Sheaf was named Coventry’s captain for the 2024/25 season and it comes with good reason after his performances since joining the Sky Blues in 2021 from Arsenal.
This season he’s continued in the same vein and would no doubt have been given some strong advice from midfield legend and Coventry boss Frank Lampard.
| Ben Sheaf’s statistics in the Championship this season | |
| Appearances | 18 |
| Pass accuracy % | 87.1% |
| Chances created | 23 |
| Accurate long balls | 41 |
| Duels won | 102 |
| Tackles won % | 25/43 (58.1%) |
With Coventry eager to settle their financial requirements and Leeds waiting to pounce, this could develop into an exciting capture for Leeds fans.
