27-year-old left on the bench again on Sunday, after reports Leeds were interested in £7m move

Reports of Leeds United’s interest in Fenerbahce star Ryan Kent emerged during the international break and on Sunday, the Englishman remained an unused sub as Fener secured a 2-1 League win.

Kent, 27, joined Fener in the summer. It comes after five years at Rangers, in which he won the Scottish Premiership and got to the Europa League final, eventually losing to Frankfurt after a penalty shootout.

But his move to Turkey has not gone to plan. It was a bit of a surprise to see Kent go to Fener in the first place, with plenty of English clubs courting him. He’s played in just 14 of his side’s 23 games this term.

TeamTalk say Leeds, Bournemouth and Rangers are all keen on Kent, with the player ready to return to these shores already. Miliyet said he is unhappy and ‘ready to leave’. He will cost a fee of £7m [Fanatik].

These reports emerged during the international break. Sunday saw Fener return to action, a home clash against struggling Karagumruk. Fener’s 23rd game of the season, Kent starting only seven prior to that.

He remained an unused sub, though, as Fener won 2-1. Kent watched on without even getting a single minute. Fener do boast options out wide – Dusan Tadic starting over Kent on the left wing, right now.

And it was Tadic that scored both goals on Sunday, cementing Kent’s place on the bench even further. Ultimately, Kent needs to leave if he wants to find himself a starting spot. It’s not coming at Fenerbahce.

Do Leeds need him? Well, not right now. But if one of our wingers leaves in January, then maybe Kent could come in as a replacement. But Leeds should only move if another wants to leave Elland Road.
