Leeds United target Han-Noah Massengo has rejected a move to Burnley this summer.

That is according to L’Equipe, who report Massengo has turned down a proposed switch to the Clarets as he wants to join a club where he is able to play regular minutes.

Massengo is currently without a club after leaving Bristol City at the end of last month but is seemingly in no rush to confirm where he will be playing next.

While he is out of contract, any club who signs Massengo will have to pay a compensation package to Bristol City due to him being under the age of 23.

According to Phil Hay, Massengo is among the options Leeds are looking at this summer as they look to completely overhaul their midfield options.

It is unclear whether Leeds would indeed be able to offer Massengo the game time he wishes, particularly after the signing of Ethan Ampadu.

Massengo is very much a defensive-minded midfielder who looks to get on the ball from deep, which is what Ampadu is set to bring following his arrival from Chelsea.

Leeds have also managed to keep Tyler Adams so far during the transfer window, and given he is set to be out until September with injury, that increases the Whites’ chances of keeping him.

Daniel Farke’s priority in midfield now should be add to add both a number eight and 10, with creativity having been desperately lacking in Leeds’ opening two friendlies.

Massengo is certainly not that and as such, Leeds appear unlikely to firm up their initial interest unless Adams leaves.
