Leeds United are about to embark on a busy Christmas period that sees The Whites play six times in the space of 19 days, including both home and away games against Derby County.
Leeds currently sit in third in the Championship table after losing to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. They had entered the weekend’s fixtures in first place, only for Sheffield United and Burnley to win matches.
It means Leeds are now three points behind leaders Sheffield United, but it is a lot better than where Leeds found themselves last season – sitting in third, but eight points behind Leicester, seven off Ipswich.
Below, we predict how many points Leeds will pick up in the next six games:

Predicting Leeds United’s six Championship matches in December
Leeds v Derby (Saturday 7 December, Elland Road)
Prediction: 3-0. Leeds host Derby in the first of two games this month against the newly-promoted Rams. Rivalry remains, but Derby have been poor after returning to the second tier. Leeds should win at home.
Leeds v Middlesbrough (Tuesday 10 December, Elland Road)
Prediction: 3-2. Boro have been excellent but unlike most, they won’t shut up shop. They will come to win and that leaves gaps. Leeds won 4-3 last season in the reverse fixture and a high-scoring match is likely.
Preston v Leeds (Saturday 14 December, Deepdale)
Prediction: 1-1. Leeds struggled against Preston last season, narrowly winning at home and losing 2-1 at Deepdale. Preston don’t concede many and they might prove difficult to overcome for Leeds, away.

Leeds v Oxford United (Saturday 21 December, Elland Road)
Prediction: 4-1. The third home game in the next four, Leeds take on a second newly-promoted side in Oxford. They have just four wins in 18 games, conceding 28 and Leeds should be able to win easily.
Stoke v Leeds (Thursday 26 December, bet365 Stadium)
Prediction: 0-2. Stoke have not been good this year, either. Five wins from 18, they sit in 14th and while Stoke will be a tough place to go in the cold of Boxing Day, Leeds should be picking up three points.
Derby v Leeds (Sunday 29 December, Pride Park)
Prediction: 1-2. A lot will depend on the form going into this one and whether Derby can get a result this weekend. But judging by what we have seen so far, Leeds are a far greater side and should pick up a win.
