It was the pick of many Leeds United fans on Monday evening, and they got their wish as Daniel Farke’s men have drawn local side Harrogate Town in the third round of The FA Cup.

The third round of the FA Cup was drawn on Monday night with Premier League and Championship clubs joining the competition. It saw Leeds and England’s biggest clubs joining those in League 1 and League 2.

Non-League clubs were also involved with Leeds pulled out of the draw by former Bradford City boss Mark Hughes. It saw Leeds win a home tie in the FA Cup, something which has been a rarity recently.

But as fate would have it, Leeds drew League Two side Harrogate Town with manager Simon Weaver in attendance. It will see Harrogate make the short 20-mile trip to Elland Road come the new year.

How Harrogate reacted on Tik Tok to drawing Leeds in FA Cup

It is an incredible draw in a weekend of games that will also include Arsenal taking on Manchester United. Tottenham face non-league Tamworth, while Bromley go to St. James’ Park to face Newcastle United.

Harrogate have struggled this season, sitting in 17th place in League Two with just six wins from their 17 games. Leeds fans were delighted with the draw against Harrogate, and so were Harrogate on Tik Tok.

The League Two side posted a video that included famous snippets renowned on social media, with a clip of England fans celebrating and pints thrown in the air when it was confirmed Harrogate will go to Leeds.

Leeds have never actually played against Harrogate competitively

But Marcelo Bielsa was once seen at The Exercise Stadium shortly after becoming Leeds manager. Bielsa was believed to be checking up on then-teenager Liam Kitching, who failed to make a senior Leeds debut.

Kitching is now under the guidance of Frank Lampard at Coventry City, with the Sky Blues drawing 2-2 with Cardiff City in Lampard’s first game. Leeds though, have faced Harrogate in pre-season friendlies.

Just in the summer, Leeds went to Harrogate in their first pre-season friendly before jetting to Germany for a pre-season training camp. Farke watched as his side eased to a 3-0 win back in July at Harrogate.
