Leeds United sunk to a defeat on Saturday, losing late on against Fulham in the Premier League.

Leeds United were holding their own in the game at Craven Cottage. Multiple players had multiple chances to score, but in the end, it was a Gabriel Gudmundsson goal that split the two.

Fulham beat Leeds United 1-0 with Gudmundsson the unfortunate player to put the ball into the Leeds net, and right in the 94th minute of the game too.

Brenden Aaronson can have his role in the side

Brenden Aaronson can so often be decisive. Aaronson started for Leeds United against Fulham on Saturday and he was one of the bright sparks in the first half, putting himself about and proving once again that he’s not afraid to do the dirty work for his team.

Whilst he may not always make so much happen when he’s on the ball, he’s an engine of a player, and that kind of motor could come in very handy for Farke in games where there’s a lot of midfield battles or where Leeds simply need to be relentless out of possession.

Noah Okafor can become a really key player for Leeds United

Fans got their first proper glimpse of Noah Okafor on Saturday, and they liked what they saw. The summer signing from AC Milan started his first premier league game and in the first half in particular he was looking lively.

If he can eventually add goals and assists to his game then he’ll prove a very worthwhile signing for Farke.

Leeds United can create chances

After deadline day, the main feeling was that Leeds United just don’t have firepower in their ranks. But after that Fulham game, it looks like it’s more of a case of not having anyone clinical enough to put away the chances.

Leeds dominated the shots statistics with 10 compared to Fulham’s five, albeit with only one clear-cut chance in the game.

Leeds United can hold their own in the Premier League

Leading on from the above point: Leeds showed a lot of positivity on Saturday, albeit losing the game in dramatic fashion at the very last.

They’re proving that they can compete with the teams in the middle of the pack, and it literally does feel like the team is one good striker away from being safe this season.

If and when Dominic Calvert-Lewin finds his scoring from, Leeds United could go on a bit of run up the Premier League table.

Daniel Farke is a man under pressure

Leeds remain in a relatively steady 14th place of the table after that defeat on Saturday. If the season ended now, it would be a success. But there’s a long, long way to go and Leeds United simply can’t score form open play.

Inevitably, Farke will be the man who takes the fall. Whilst the owners and recruitment team have let him down, he’s the one putting the players on the pitch and telling them what to do, and some of his decisions and tactics so far this season have been puzzling.
