Why Manor Solomon’s Leeds United future is now under threat

Manor Solomon has been a revelation with Leeds United this season. The vast majority of fans want to see him signed permanently in the summer, but the chances of that happening may have just taken a hit.

Manor Solomon has become a huge fan favourite at Leeds United. Despite putting in a poor performance against West Brom last time out, the Israeli winger has been a hit overall with seven goals and seven assists in 28 Championship appearances for Daniel Farke’s side.

Inevitably, there’s been a lot of talk about the chances of Leeds United signing Solomon on a permanent deal from parent club Tottenham Hotspur in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Leeds will wait until the summer to decide on Solomon given their promotion push. Farke’s men are not out of the woods just yet, with that 1-1 draw against West Brom last weekend closing their lead at the top of the Championship table to three points.

But it’s already been confirmed multiple times that Leeds United would consider a permanent deal for Solomon, who clearly seems to be enjoying his football at Elland Road.

Southampton join race for Manor Solomon, and it could spark a bidding war

Already, Leeds United face competition from Everton for the signing of Solomon, who remains under contract in North London until 2028. But a fresh emerging report from GIVEMESPORT has revealed that Southampton have also joined the race for the £15million-rated Solomon.

Despite the Saints’ perilous position in the Premier League, they’re ‘aiming to beat Everton and Leeds in the race to sign Solomon’ with Ange Postecoglou’s side now ‘willing to sanction his permanent departure’ this summer.

GIVEMSPORT does go on to reveal that Leeds United are ‘expected to be the frontrunners if they win promotion’ but that Southampton joining the race could spark something of a bidding war in the summer, which could potentially price Leeds out of a deal.

49ers yet to make concrete decision on Manor Solomon at Leeds United

Whilst fans and indeed Farke have all been impressed with Solomon’s performances this season, the 49ers are yet to make a firm decision on whether or not to pursue a permanent deal for the 25-year-old.

Speaking to Leeds United News earlier in the season, transfer expert Graeme Bailey revealed the 49ers’ stance on signing Solomon in the summer.

He explained to us: “He is doing a very good and it is something being considered by the club. But I am told a definitive decision has not been made.”

For Solomon and Leeds United, the focus right now is on earning promotion. Then the discussion of his future can take place. Though with more and more teams joining the race, it could become a difficult pursuit for the Whites.
