The transfer window slammed shut at 7pm with Leeds United working hard to do a deal for Fulham’s Harry Wilson, while there are a couple of exits still possible at Elland Road.
Leeds have pushed for a late move to sign Wales star Wilson from Fulham, and it is yet to be confirmed if The Whites have managed to agree something. There has been no confirmation from either end, yet.
But Leeds have not just been working on incomings. Indeed, Meslier has had the choice of two clubs to join on deadline day. News on Meslier has remained silent all day and there could be a reason for that.
Indeed, reports say that Meslier could return to former side Lorient or follow Largie Ramazani to Spanish side Valencia, who are managed by Carlos Corberan. Corberan was a coach at Leeds during Meslier’s stint.

Why Meslier has until 11pm to confirm Leeds United exit
Interestingly, the Premier League window is now shut, as is the Ligue 1 window. It means that unless Meslier secured a move to Lorient before the deadline, the French side are now unable to re-sign him.
However, Meslier could still leave Leeds before the day is done and that is because the La Liga window does not shut until 11pm tonight. Valencia then, have another four hours to strike a deal for Meslier.
Of course, the window only shuts for buying clubs. Selling clubs can still buy players if the buying club’s window is open. That means, Valencia still have until later on this evening to complete a Meslier deal.

Illan Meslier simply has to leave Leeds before Monday is done
Leeds might have released Patrick Bamford, but that is a player in his thirties and would not have cost the club much in terms of an incoming transfer fee. Leeds almost owed it to Bamford to terminate his deal.
For Meslier, there is resale value. While it is five years since Meslier joined Leeds for £5m and that means any fee received is profit, Leeds will not wave goodbye to the potential of a fee for the French stopper.
Of course, if Meslier fails to complete a move before the end of the Spanish deadline, then perhaps a release is a factor that Leeds may have to consider. For now, Meslier remains a Leeds United player.
