Isaac Schmidt is one of two new signings Leeds United are expected to complete on deadline day alongside Ao Tanaka, and he scored in his final outing for St. Gallen on Thursday night.
Leeds have almost had their own mini transfer window in the last fortnight. Prior to Largie Ramazani’s arrival at Elland Road, Leeds had not completed an incoming transfer for a month but that has changed.
Georginio Rutter’s departure saw Daniel Farke tell media he wanted four new signings and now, on deadline day, Leeds are expected to confirm at least two arrivals in the form of Tanaka and Schmidt.
The latter chose to play for current side St. Gallen on Thursday night, as he looked to help his current side qualify for the Europa Conference League against Turkish outfit Trabzonspor after a 0-0 first-leg draw.

Schmidt scores gorgeous curling effort ahead of Leeds move
Indeed, 24-year-old Schmidt is expected to hop on a flight to Leeds this morning ahead of putting pen to paper on an initial £2.5m deal. But it comes after playing an hour on Thursday night for St. Gallen.
He gave St. Gallen the lead in the first half of the second leg and finally ending a stalemate after 120 minutes of football between the two sides, placing a first-time finish into the far corner from 16 yards.
Tanaka and Schmidt to sign, what else could happen today?
Deadline day always throws up a shock and Farke has hinted that Leeds could look to address a lack of options in the 10 role. He said Leeds only have one natural no.10, in USA playmaker Brenden Aaronson.
So with Tanaka and Schmidt arriving, Leeds could also be in the market for an attacking, creative player. Freiburg’s 52-time Hungary star Roland Sallai is the most-obvious target, but anything can happen.
Deadline day offers up plenty of movement and players suddenly becoming available and it might be that a player yet to be linked with Leeds eventually ends up at Elland Road to complete a last-minute move.
