With Sean Longstaff’s deal not progressing at Leeds United, attention may turn to Anton Stach.

It was revealed to LeedsUnited.News that Leeds are ‘threatening’ to leave the Longstaff deal after a third bid was rejected.

This is unfortunate after the Whites were bound to sign the 27-year-old, with it being said Longstaff could be confirmed ‘before the weekend’.

But the 49ers can’t sit around and wait, and instead might have to heighten their pursuit of Leeds target Anton Stach.

Stach who is valued at £17m+, could be arriving at Elland Road soon, but an offer still needs to be made, and the German media are hearing a ‘message’ being sent to the 49ers.

New ‘message’ coming out of German media about Leeds United target Anton Stach

It’s looking very clear that Stach is a firm target for the owners this summer.

A new defensive-minded midfielder is needed to cement a solid foundation at the back for Daniel Farke, as Stach has been dubbed ‘high quality’ and, after his tenure at Hoffenheim, he’s exactly that.

But talks don’t seem to be running smoothly as things stand, but Stach is ‘considering’ a move to Leeds.

With this in mind, BILD have reported the latest update, with a firm message coming from the Hoffenheim camp.

The outlet states that Leeds remain ‘very interested’ in the midfielder, although there hasn’t been a concrete offer made as of yet.

Hoffenheim’s overall message to Leeds is that they’ll have to ‘dig deep into their pockets’ if they’re to sign Stach this summer.

Leeds could still land both Longstaff and Stach this summer

With Stach not being the like-for-like replacement for Longstaff, there is still a possibility that both players can be signed.

It has been claimed that Leeds could go back in for a fourth bid, with just a couple of million separating Newcastle’s asking price, but the 49ers won’t want to be bullied.

Nevertheless, to acquire both Longstaff and Stach would provide a real boost to Farke’s midfield.

A £29m double deal for Stach and Longstaff was suggested, but now it’s likely the German will only leave for a higher price after his successful displays in the Bundesliga.

With Ao Tanaka and Ilia Gruev remaining the only out-and-out central midfielders in the squad, the 49ers might have to be prepared to get the chequebook out after Hoffenheim’s wishes for Stach are clear.
