Leeds United are facing competition from Sunderland for Nathaniel Adjei.
That is according to The Sun, which has named four other clubs who are keen on Adjei.
So, what is being reported about Sunderland and Leeds United target Nathaniel Adjei? Let’s take a look.
What’s the story?
Well, Leeds United have been linked with Nathaniel Adjei, but it seems that Daniel Farke’s side are going to find it hard to sign him in the January transfer window.
Earlier this month, Fotboll Direkt named Leeds as one of the clubs who are keen on signing Adjei.
Sunderland are now being linked with the 21-year-old central defender.
According to The Sun, Sunderland want to sign Adjei on a loan deal from Hammarby IF in the January transfer window to enhance their chances of winning promotion from the Championship.
Middlesbrough and Preston North End are also keen on the defender, and so are Scottish Premiership clubs Rangers and Celtic.

Leeds are third in the Championship table with 31 points from 16 matches, eight points behind Leicester City and Ipswich Town, who are first and second respectively.
Sunderland are sixth in the standings with 26 points from 16 matches.
Leeds United do not need Sunderland target Nathaniel Adjei
In my opinion, Leeds United do not need to sign Nathaniel Adjei and should not try to bring him to Elland Road ahead of Sunderland.
I believe that Leeds head coach Daniel Farke has enough options at the back. Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk are the two main centre-backs for the Whites at the moment.
Rodon joined on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023 and has been one of the best players for Leeds this season.
Liam Cooper is still around and can always help out when needed. And let us not forget Charlie Cresswell.
Cooper is 32 now and Cresswell is just 21, so perhaps an established centre-back in his mid-20s would be a good addition to the squad, especially for the long term, but I do not think that there is any need for Leeds to bring in Adjei.
Adjei is just 21 and is playing in the Swedish league. There is a chance that he may not be able to make an immediate impact at Elland Road.
