Spotted: Free agent in attendance at Elland Road for latest Leeds United win as signing moves closer

Leeds United finally appear to be closing in on the signing of a free agent following the 2-1 win over Watford at Elland Road.

The Whites made it back-to-back home wins in the space of just a matter of days as Largie Ramazani and Brenden Aaronson both found the net inside seven minutes.

Despite racing into such an early lead, Leeds were made to work for the three points as they failed to kill off an away side who refused back down.

Ramazani’s injury after just 15 minutes did affect Leeds‘ momentum but despite Watford’s goal just after the break, they managed to hold firm to take three points.

However, with Ramazani’s injury and Junior Firpo’s suspension, Leeds’ squad is looking a little stretched again and so a free agent coming in would certainly be useful.

Spotted: Joshua Guilavogui at Elland Road for Leeds win

Leeds have been linked with a plethora of names since Daniel Farke made it clear he would like another body, but it looks as though he has found his man.

Cheikhou Kouyate was invited to Thorp Arch during the international break, while Christoph Kramer and Francis Coquelin have also been linked.

Reports from Spain on Tuesday had actually indicated Coquelin was on his way to Leeds for a trial, even after Joshua Guilavogui was spotted at Elland Road for the win at Sheffield United.

However, Leeds fans are always on the pulse with this type of thing and for the second match in a row, Guilavogui was pictured in attendance alongside a supporter.

The Twitter account @Punjabi_whites posted a selfie with Guilavogui from the match, accompanied by the caption, ‘signed, sealed and ready to deliver.’

Farke said a decision was not far away in his presser on Monday, and this latest tweet would suggest it is only a matter of time before Guilavogui puts pen-to-paper.

Leeds need to have Guilavogui signed swiftly

With Joe Rothwell and Ao Tanaka playing so well, Guilavogui will be coming in as backup at Leeds, but they need him signed sooner rather than later.

After Saturday’s trip to Bristol City, Leeds finally have a full week to prepare for a run of three matches in seven days against Plymouth Argyle, Millwall and QPR.

Leeds could really do with having Guilavogui available for that little run, particularly with Joe Rodon walking a suspension tightrope.

Guilavogui can play both in central midfield and centre-back and so having him on the bench for that run would give Farke peace of mind he has some experience in reserve.
