Jaka Bijol has been regularly linked with Leeds United over the last fortnight, with Adam Underwood and the Elland Road transfer team locked in talks – and now, there has been a breakthrough.
The Udinese and Slovenia star has been linked with The Whites non-stop over the last couple of weeks, with Bijol himself admitting he wanted to leave. His Udinese contract expires at the end of next season.
Gianluca Di Marzio reported last week that Leeds’ first bid had been rejected, while The YEP say a bid of £17m would be enough for Leeds to sign him. Talks have remained ongoing despite the early setback.
LeedsUnited.News has been told that Bijol has already agreed to join Leeds and that personal terms would not be an issue. It all depends on Leeds’ ability to agree a fee with Udinese in order to sign Bijol.

Jaka Bijol’s agents are flying to England for Leeds United talks
In what could be a major breakthrough, Bijol’s representatives are now said to be flying into England for face-to-face talks with Underwood and the Leeds transfer team in a bid to thrash out a deal for Bijol.
That is according to Sport MediaSet writer Orazio Accomando who has told fans on X that a deal to take Bijol to Elland Road from Udinese this summer could be concluded as early as close of play on Tuesday.
Accomando wrote on X: “Agreement close between Leeds and Bijol. The English will try to close the deal with Udinese in the next 24 hours. The player’s entourage will fly to England to close the deal.”
Where Newcastle United stand in move to sign Jaka Bijol
It emerged early this week that Newcastle United had made inquiries over a move to sign Bijol. Whether that interest is genuine or a trick from Bijol’s agents to get a move going, remains to be seen.
Newcastle do need central defenders, but it appears that Bijol still remains intent on joining Leeds. The latest update suggests a deal could be done sooner than many thought, with his agents now in the air.
It was reported that the amount separating Leeds and Udinese in their valuation of Bijol was around £6.5m – with Leeds bidding £14.5m and Udinese wanting £21m. But Udinese are willing to sell for £17m.
Bijol is seen as a real coup among those at Leeds, given he is considered one of the best defenders in European football in the air, having starred at Udinese in Serie A for the past three seasons.
