Leeds United are preparing for a busy week as they look to add to their three summer signings, with Gabriel Gudmundsson expected to join the club in the next day or two.

Lille and Sweden defender Gudmundsson is said to have arrived in England ahead of a move to Elland Road. But he is not the only player Leeds could sign in the near future, with plenty of others on the list.

Adam Underwood is still targeting a new goalkeeper, a midfielder, a better version of Brenden Aaronson, a replacement for Manor Solomon and a starting striker. Possibly, another full-back if Sam Byram leaves.

In the last 24 hours, another new name has been touted with a potential move to Leeds this summer. But he is a player who boasts plenty of Premier League interest in his services, with West Ham on pole.

Slavia Prague manager comments on El Hadji Malick Diouf

Leeds are interested in Slavia Prague’s Senegal defender El Hadji Malick Diouf. Leeds fans may remember his performance alongside Habib Diarra for Senegal against England at the City Ground last month.

Leeds fans were certainly impressed with Diouf, as he got the better of Bukayo Saka. Now, Leeds are keen on Diouf, but West Ham are leading the race for him. The Hammers have seen a £17.25m bid rejected.

However, West Ham remain in talks with Slavia Prague asking for an initial fee of £17.25m, and an overall fee of £21.6m with add-ons. Now, his manager Jindřich Trpišovský says he expects Diouf to be sold.

“We’re all thinking about a transfer. It’s a matter of time. The club’s management is taking care of it. Malick has an individual program,” Trpišovský said, as quoted by African site Wiwsport over the weekend.

“We don’t want to take any risks. He’s a player with extraordinary qualities. Slavia’s demands must be met, but we believe he will leave. I think those who are here will stay at Slavia. Except for Malick,” he added.

Slavia Prague’s pre-season is a major hint over Diouf’s future

If Trpišovský’s comments do not make it obvious that Diouf will leave Slavia Prague this summer, then the club’s pre-season fixtures drop a further hint. Slavia Prague are already three games into their schedule.

The Czech league starts on July 20, and that has seen Slavia Prague’s pre-season start early. They have played three friendlies against Bulgarian side Ludogorets, Romanian outfit U Cluj and Austrian outfit Linz.

Three wins, but three victories that have seen Diouf completely absent. The versatile ace, who can play full-back, wing-back, centre-back, on either side of an attack or even in midfield, is clearly on the move.
