49ers Enterprises are looking to own Leeds United for many years to come and so planning for the future on and off the field will be paramount to their success.
The 49ers have spoken of owning Leeds for in excess of 10 years and their commitment towards doing so has been reflected in their steps towards redeveloping Elland Road.
Leeds are looking to make Elland Road the seventh largest club stadium in England and announced last week how they are planning to do so behind-the-scenes.
Simon Jordan believes this could be the catalyst for Leeds to return to the top of English football, but ultimately, that is going to depend on how successful they are on the pitch.
With that in mind, Leeds‘ newly formed recruitment team under the 49ers will be looking to bring in some young players for the academy, who could potentially progress into the first team in years to come.

Leeds eyeing move for Port Vale youngster Karl Agnero
It is not since the days of Victor Orta that Leeds have placed much focus on academy recruitment, but that could be about to change.
According to TeamTalk, Leeds are among a host of clubs interested in signing Port Vale youngster Karl Agnero, a 16-year-old midfielder also on the watchlist of Stoke, Norwich City and several others.
Agnero is regarded as a youngster with ‘huge potential’ and has already been handed a senior debut at Port Vale in their recent EFL Trophy clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers’ U21s.
It is said Leeds view Agnero as a player with the capacity to progress into the first team in years to come, and could step up their interest to get themselves ahead of the chasing pack.
Leeds are reportedly keen on building a ‘strong base of youth’ at the club as they look to emulate the recent successes of Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray, both of whom were sold for big money.

The academy stars currently close to Leeds breakthrough
Leeds currently have a number of players on the periphery of Daniel Farke‘s squad who seemingly aren’t quite ready for regular first team football.
However, that might change in the coming weeks due to the current injury issues, with Ethan Ampadu’s 10-week lay-off potentially opening the door for two youngsters.
Not only is Ampadu Leeds’ best midfielder, he is also cover at centre-back. With that in mind, both Charlie Crew and James Debayo will be looking to take advantage.
A bit further down the pecking order is Luca Thomas, who is enjoying a fine season at U21s level in Premier League Two.
Thomas is the join top scorer in PL2 this season with five goals in four matches, and his form may have Farke taking notice soon.
