Leeds United might well have maxed out PSR, but the club is coming under increasing pressure to bring in some attacking reinforcements in January, and one option could now be worth almost £40m.
Despite moves to try and sign Harry Wilson or Facundo Buonanotte in the latter stages of the transfer window, managing director Robbie Evans says any new signings will see Leeds cross over the PSR line.
Should Leeds follow Nottingham Forest’s path and risk a points deduction? 💸
That is after a summer in which Leeds spent north of £100m on 10 new signings. But there is a clear lack of attacking weaponry at Leeds despite signing Noah Okafor, Lukas Nmecha, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Leeds need more in attack after just nine goals in 11 Premier League games, and Daniel Farke’s side are expected to do business in the January window. One option, of course, is Ireland hero Troy Parrott.
Karim El Ahmadi says Troy Parrott value has gone up £9m-£13m
LeedsUnited.News understands Leeds scouts watched Parrott score a brace for Ireland against Portugal, before his hat-trick against Hungary. Five goals in two games which has secured a World Cup play-off.
Reports in the Netherlands say Leeds remain in contact to sign Parrott and now, former AZ Alkmaar star Karim El Ahmadi is quoted by Voetbal Primeur as saying he’s added an extra £13m to his price tag.
“In just a week, his transfer value has increased by ten to fifteen million euros. In his off-ball role, I think he’s a bit like Luuk de Jong. He really sets the tone and includes everyone,” El Ahmadi said on Parrott.

Troy Parrott interest is bad news for one Leeds United striker
As El Ahmadi says, Parrott is not simply a poacher. This is a player who gets involved in play, and after a tutorship from Harry Kane at Tottenham, the Ireland ace is often seen dropping deep to help create.
This is a player who is equally adept playing as a no.10 as he is up front. He offers something different to both Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha. But a move for Parrott would be bad news for Dutch striker Joel Piroe.
Which position do Leeds United need to strengthen most in January?
Explain why!
The £16m signing is a player who has often even started as a no.10 under Farke. One who has scored 33 goals since joining Leeds, but has also created 10 more. Piroe even started out as a no.10 as a teenager.
LeedsUnited.News is aware that Piroe’s agents are preparing for a possible January exit, and the signing of Parrott, regardless of the finances it would take, would make him a direct replacement for Piroe.
