Leeds United are searching for new additions in the final few weeks of the transfer window and one player linked with a move to Elland Road would be a “very good signing”, according to Carlton Palmer.
Having sold seven players, let five go out on loan and waved goodbye to many more at the end of their contracts, Leeds’ squad depth has significantly reduced over the last couple of months, but it was needed.
However, The Whites do now need to add two or three players and are targeting a left-back, a central midfielder and a replacement for Crysencio Summerville. But one other is being considered as a target.
Leeds are well-stocked at centre-back following the return of Max Wober, while Pascal Struijk is back from injury and James Debayo has impressed in pre-season. But The Whites are keen on Bashir Humphreys.

Leeds certainly need cover for Junior Firpo and while Humphreys is naturally a centre-back, he is left-footed and the England U21 defender would be a welcome addition to Daniel Farke’s squad this summer.
Chelsea are said to want to sell Humphreys on a permanent basis, though it is unclear how much they would want for the “outstanding” versatile star. Now, former Leeds man Palmer has had his say on FLW.
“He’s a million miles from getting in the Chelsea first-team, so it’s the best solution. I think it would be a very very good signing, he had a superb season at Swansea, this would be a good addition to the squad.
“Leeds have sold a lot of players and brought in a lot of money, so they can bring in one or two players and they would prefer to bring in younger players rather. This would be a very good signing for Leeds.”
Humphreys interest could be a hint that Leeds will sell player
It was a surprise when Brenden Aaronson announced he would return to Leeds, but perhaps even more so when Wober rocked up at Elland Road again. He was an unused sub on Saturday against Portsmouth.
Gladbach sporting director Roland Virkus spoke about a move to bring Wober back to the Bundesliga club after last season’s loan spell, and said a move may have a chance towards the end of the window.
With Struijk already the club’s first-choice left-footed centre-back and Wober keen to retain his place in Austria’s National side he could still go and interest in Humphreys might be a sign he will.
