Despite having now signed 10 new players, it looks like Leeds United could sign one or two more before the summer transfer window is over.

Deadline day is rapidly approaching for Leeds United. Their summer transfer window closes on September the 1st and it looks like Daniel Farke has his eye on one, maybe two more signings before the window shuts.

Most recently, Leeds United completed a deal to sign James Justin from Leicester City. Farke has wanted another full-back addition all summer and now he has one and he can turn his attentions elsewhere on the pitch, potentially to the no.10 position.

Leeds United have needed a new no.10 all summer and one name linked of late is Christantus Uche at Getafe.

Christantus Uche set to make transfer decision amid Leeds United interest

Earlier this month, Leeds United were linked with a move for Uche, but recent reports have indicated that Wolves might be leading the race to sign the Nigerian international. It has been claimed recently that Wolves have submitted a £17m bid to sign Uche, following his impressive 2024-25 season in La Liga.

Though it has recently been revealed by Spanish journalist Eduardo Burgos that Uche is currently blocking a move to Molineux, adding that Wolves and Getafe have signed all the documents for his sale, though Uche is yet to sign through the move.

And after Getafe’s 2-1 win over Sevilla in La Liga on Monday night, Burgos then revealed on X that Getafe and Uche face ‘tense hours’ ahead as they await the player’s final decision on a potential move to the Premier League. Burgos also shared a picture of Uche looking visibly emotional after full-time of the game against Sevilla.

Leeds United’s no.10 search boils down to one player, it’s not Christantus Uche

It looks as though the no.10 position could be the one that Farke tries to bolster in what’s left of the summer transfer window. And Leeds are one of five teams courting Uche right now, along with Wolves, Sunderland, Burnley, and OGC Nice in Ligue 1.

But whilst Uche seems more likely to join Wolves than any other club, should he leave Getafe that is, Leeds United could have one last chance to sign Emi Buendia at Aston Villa.

Recently, Buendia was visibly frustrated with Aston Villa manager Unai Emery who brought him on in Villa’s last game against Brentford, only to bring him off later in the second half.

Despite having impressed in pre-season, it looks as though the Argentine remains on the peripheries of the first-team plans at Villa Park, and both he and the club could look for an outcome before the September 1st deadline.

For Leeds, if he’s available at a decent price, or maybe even on loan, it could be a shrewd signing with a new number 10, certainly one thing that Farke could do with having before the summer ends.
