Daniel Farke will have to take control of negotiations at Leeds United but in this instance, the player holds the cards.
It seems as though the 49ers are already working efficiently to get deals sorted this summer.
Leeds have introduced two new faces to Elland Road as Daniel Farke hopes to build on the promised master plan this summer.
Noah Sadiki could follow after Jaka Bijol, as Farke has to start eyeing midfield improvements.
But on the other hand, another area of the squad is in desperate need of reinforcements, and the player in question is proving to be a tricky customer.

Leeds United target Gabriel Gudmundsson offers Daniel Farke ultimatum
In the last week, a new candidate has entered the frame to fill the void at left-back following Junior Firpo’s inevitable exit.
This could be in the form of Gabriel Gudmundsson, as the Lille left-back has appeared on the Whites’ transfer radar.
The 26-year-old is weighing up his options as Adam Underwood is ‘very keen’ on Gudmundsson this summer.
It comes after an impressive campaign in Ligue 1, as the Swede is now weighing up his options.
Gudmundsson hasn’t ruled out a move to Leeds, but has stated what it would take to grab his attention away from Lille.
Speaking to Swedish outlet Hallandsposten, Gudmundsson gave Farke and Leeds an ultimatum to consider this window.
“There are boxes to check off. First and foremost, you should enjoy yourself, and then I think you play your best football. You want to feel prioritised by a club. You also want to feel that there is a lot of competition in the league and that the club has a goal and clarity in what they want,” Gudmundsson said.
“That is very important, then the financial stuff comes a bit in second place. It is a lot of fun going forward regardless of what happens, so I am very excited about it.”

How Leeds target Gudmundsson and Firpo’s attacking numbers compare
What Farke tends to pride himself on at Leeds is his unique set-up from his full-backs.
This means that Leeds saw a high amount of goal involvements from both Firpo and Jayden Bogle last season, as the Leeds duo did something never seen before.
Gudmundsson can give all the demands he wants, but all the Leeds boss will be after is if he can match Firpo’s attacking numbers, and after 14 goal contributions last season, it will be a hard task.
| Junior Firpo 24/25 | Gabriel Gudmundsson 24/25 | |
| Goal involvements | 14 (4G+10A) | 2 (2G+0A) |
| Chances created per 90 | 1.65 | 0.81 |
| Touches in opposition box | 116 | 38 |
| Fouls won | 42 | 42 |
| Cross accuracy % | 15.9% | 22% |
Although the Swede has a better cross, Firpo is clear in all other categories, meaning that Gudmundsson has a lot of work to do in proving himself to Farke.
Nevertheless, the potential is there, and now it’s up to Leeds as to whether they give in to the left-back’s wishes.
