Leeds United could make one more big money signing before the summer transfer window shuts on September 1st.

Already this summer, Leeds United have spent £100m on new players. And ahead of the transfer window shutting on September 1st, Daniel Farke looks set to dip into the market one more time.

The German is wanting more attacking signings, and so far this summer, Leeds have signed 10 new players.

But only the likes of Lukas Nmecha, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Noah Okafor have bolstered the Whites’ front line.

Leeds United back in for Bilal El Khannouss

Leeds United have a number of attacking targets right now, specifically a number of number 10s. But one deal is set to collapse and that’s for Facundo Buonanotte. Chelsea look set to beat Leeds in the race to sign Buonanotte from Brighton and so Farke will quickly have to turn his attentions elsewhere.

And a recent report from The Athletic says that Bilal El Khannouss, Dilane Bakwa, Edward Spertsyan, and Manor Solomon are indeed players Leeds are known to have an interest in right now.

But Leeds United News sources can reveal that El Khannouss is the primary target ahead of deadline day, with Leeds having reopened talks to sign the Leicester City man whose move to Crystal Palace fell through this week.

Where Leeds United stand in the race to sign Bilal El Khannouss

The race to sign El Khannouss has taken several twists and turns over the last few weeks. Earlier in the summer, it was suggested that El Khannouss was favouring a move to Leeds United this summer, but after his move to Palace fell through, it then looked as though Spurs were leading the race to sign the 21-year-old.

Then earlier this week, reports claimed that West Ham are in advanced talks to sign El Khannouss, with the Hammers arriving late in the race to sign the Moroccan international. Now though, it looks as though Leeds will put all their energy and resources towards signing El Khannouss in what’s left of the summer transfer window.

It should come as good news to Leeds United fans who still aren’t sold on their current options in that number 10 role, particularly Brenden Aaronson.
