Leeds United now want to sign Brazilian forward compared to Alexander Isak

Daniel Farke showed exactly why Leeds need another striker before a ball was even kicked in the 0-0 draw at Anfield.

The electric Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who could boast seven goals in six games before the trip to Liverpool, was surprisingly benched despite his immense run of form.

In recent years, the England international has struggled with injuries, and Farke explained that he wanted to protect his No.9 when asked about the decision.

It was an understandable move when you consider Lukas Nmecha is also prone to injuries, and Leeds are keen to sign another striker to help ease the workload on the pair. Now – according to Lance in Brazil – Raykkonen could arrive at Elland Road this winter.

The Brazilian news outlet now claim that Leeds are interested in signing the 17-year-old.

Which striker would you like at Leeds the most? 🤑

Raykkonen – named after Formula 1 icon Kimi Raikkonen – is currently shining on loan at Internacional on loan from Goias, which has alerted Leeds to his situation.

Football Talent Scout – a respected source when it comes to the best prospects in the game – even liken the South American to Alexander Isak, which speaks volumes about his ability.

It seems like a difficult deal for the 49ers to complete, as Lance state that Internacional have the option to turn the loan into a permanent move this month, while the teenager himself is eager to stay and continue his rapid development.

However, there is no escaping the fact Premier League sides have significantly more financial muscle in comparison to Brazilian clubs, so if Leeds are serious about Raykkonen, we presume the 49ers will have a shot at finalising a deal.

Finding a backup for Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha might be tough for Leeds when it comes to discussing personal terms and specific roles.

The pair are experienced, senior options who will expect to start most weeks, so whoever arrives to provide depth will have to accept an initial backup role.

That might put off other senior options – such as Troy Parrott, who Leeds admire.

However, a prospect such as Raykkonen might actually be more open to the chance of learning from an England international and a Germany international in a Premier League environment, rather than be thrust into the spotlight with the expectation of delivering immediately.
