The search for a new striker continues at Elland Road as the Leeds United transfer team look to make a big-money signing in attack to provide Daniel Farke with some much-needed fire power.

Leeds have been linked with plenty of big-money moves for strikers since the club were promoted back to the Premier League. Everton’s Beto is the most high-profile, who will cost a lot after joining for £26m.

Leeds have informed AZ Alkmaar that £25m is too much for Troy Parrott, despite the Ireland star’s 20-goal season in the Netherlands. Leeds have also been linked with a few bargain strikers this summer.

The Whites remain to see what happens with Callum Wilson’s contract at Newcastle, with David Ornstein saying Newcastle will offer Wilson a new deal. Veteran Jamie Vardy is also linked after leaving Leicester.

The latest striker to be linked with a move to Leeds United

On Saturday, Lecce were in danger of being relegated. They were level on points with 18th-placed Empoli, sitting in 17th. It looked bleak, as Lecce went to high-flying Lazio on the final day and needed a victory.

But, Nikola Krstovic laid on an assist as Lecce did the unthinkable and beat Lazio 1-0, avoiding relegation on the final day of the season. A brilliant season for Krstovic, who had a hand in 17 goals for Lecce.

An impressive 12 of his own and five assists, in a side that finished 17th and only managed to score 27 Serie A goals all season. Indeed, no-one scored fewer than Lecce in their fight to avoid relegation.

Lecce parted ways with Patrick Dorgu in January, and now Krstovic is expected to be the next big sale. According to Vijesti, Leeds United want Montenegro’s 2025 Player of the Year, Krstovic.

How much will Nikola Krstovic cost and the other clubs interested

Krstovic’s form has not gone unnoticed far beyond Leeds, with four Italian giants interested in signing the attacker this summer. Indeed, the report says it is a five-club chase – Leeds, and four of Serie A’s biggest.

Both Inter and AC Milan are interested in Krstovic, while Serie A champions Napoli also want Krstovic as do Roma. Leeds are also battling Roma for Abdoulaye Doucoure following his exit from rivals Everton.

CalcioMercato said in March that Lecce wanted £25m for their attacking talisman, which fits the price bracket of strikers being linked with Leeds this summer. Whether he is the one, remains to be seen.
