Leeds United’s January transfer window is unlikely to be overly busy but preparations will already be underway at how they can approach it.
The Whites currently sit third in the Championship and given how important it is financially for Leeds to be promoted this season, it would be unwise not to strengthen in January.
Transfer expert Graeme Bailey says Leeds’ window will be heavily dependant on how they perform over the festive period, which given the fixtures, looks pivotal.
Attack certainly looks like the area which could do with strengthening most, despite Sunderland being the only side to have scored more goals than Leeds this season.
Daniel Farke wanted another number 10 in the summer, while it is also clear the Leeds boss is still yet to decide on who is first choice striker is.

Leeds have ‘interest’ in Cercle Brugge star Alan Minda
One position Leeds are well stocked in that moment is out wide, though that could change depending on the future of Manor Solomon.
There has certainly been no indication Solomon will be sent back to Spurs, but he is struggling for form and improvement is needed from him between now and January. As shown by Djed Spence, Leeds aren’t afraid to make big decisions.
If Leeds do enter the market for a new winger according to two, reports from the Ecuadorian media suggest the Whites hold an ‘interest’ in signing Cercle Brugge’s Alan Minda.
Mercado Futbol EC have reported on Twitter that he is a player Leeds are looking at, while Ecuagol have also echoed those suggestions.
They wrote: “#Urgent. Alan Minda would have aroused interest from @LUFC in England. Current club @cercleofficial in Belgium.”
Who is reported Leeds target Alan Minda?
Minda is primarily a right-winger and so would arguably be a better option for Leeds’ squad than Solomon right now due to his preference to play on the left, like Wilfried Gnonto and Largie Ramazani.
At 21, Minda has already been capped 12 times by Ecuador, scoring on two occasions. His form at Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle saw him earn a move to Belgian outfit Cercle Brugge in 2023.
Minda has made 57 appearances for Cercle since making the move and has scored in the Europa Conference League against Isaac Schmidt’s old team FC St. Gallen this season.
This would certainly be an interesting signing if reports do turn out to be correct, but whether he would be the right man in January remains to be seen.
