Sunderland star Jack Clarke has emerged as a potential target for Leeds United, and Leeds fans are all saying the same thing after watching him shine against Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.
Summerville made his debut for West Ham on Saturday as the Hammers lost 2-1 to Aston Villa at home and his exit has left a chasm of creativity, goals and simply a left-winger in Daniel Farke’s Leeds squad.
The Whites had already lost Ian Poveda and Jaidon Anthony as options out wide and Summerville is now set to be joined by Georginio Rutter. The Frenchman is set to join Brighton for a huge fee of £40m.
Plenty of options have been linked with Leeds since Summerville’s exit and in the wake of Rutter leaving, though a deal for the latter is yet to be confirmed. One option for Leeds is Sunderland winger Clarke.

Clarke shines as Sunderland smash Sheffield Wednesday 4-0
Leeds are aware of Clarke, with the Thorp Arch academy product also a target for Southampton and Lazio as we enter the most-active part of the transfer window with the 23-year-old perhaps open to a late exit.
Clarke of course, left Leeds for Tottenham back in 2019 before being loaned back to Elland Road. That did not work, and neither did loans at Stoke City or QPR before his loan to Sunderland down in the third tier.
He regained his confidence and got Sunderland promoted and has gone on to have a hand in 51 goals in 114 games. On Sunday, his Sunderland side smashed Sheffield Wednesday to win 4-0 on Wearside.
Leeds fans react as Clarke shines for Sunderland on Sunday
Sunderland are ‘struggling’ to tie Clarke down to a new deal after links with Leeds and others but that did not stop him impressing as he nabbed an assist, and Leeds fans want him signed after watching him play.
If Leeds did sign Clarke in the coming days, it could see the winger go up against Sheffield Wednesday for the second time in less than a week as Leeds face Danny Rohl’s side on Friday night at Hillsborough.
The biggest obstacle Leeds will face in signing Clarke will be whether The Whites can reach an agreement in terms of a fee. Sunderland are said to rate the winger at a whopping £25m, but Leeds do have the cash.
