If Leeds United stay in the Premier League this season, right-back simply has to be a priority for Victor Orta in the summer transfer window.
Cody Drameh’s exit is reportedly looking inevitable. Meanwhile, neither Luke Ayling and Rasmus Kristensen have impressed this season. Both have had bright moments. But neither player really looks to be up to the level required.

That is why reports today concerning a former Leeds target should alert those working behind the scenes at Elland Road.
Leeds should reignite Mazraoui interest
ESPN reported last March that Leeds were eyeing Noussair Mazraoui as he approached the final stages of his contract with Ajax.

Ultimately – and very much understandably – the Moroccan opted to join Bayern Munich. However, his move to Bavaria has really not worked out. And he has now expressed his frustration over his lack of game-time.
It seems to have alerted a host of Premier League clubs. 90min reports that the likes of Arsenal and Newcastle are being kept informed on developments concerning Mazraoui ahead of the summer.
But given our previous interest, surely Leeds have to put themselves in contention.
Of course, it is hard to see Leeds being able to convince the 25-year-old to join. But 90min also mentions that the likes of Crystal Palace and Wolves are in the running.
With that in mind, Leeds should at least put themselves in the mix. These are the kind of clubs – should we stay up – that we need to be competing with for signings.
Mazraoui is a ‘terrific‘ player. And he would surely be a major upgrade on the options we already have.
Some fans may be wary of signing a fringe player from Bayern. Targeting players from the biggest clubs in Europe has not worked out too well so far.
But Leeds cannot go into next season with Kristensen and Ayling battling for the right-back spot. Perhaps, Mazraoui’s comments on his situation with Bayern should put the Whites on alert.
