Josuha Guilavogui has spoken for the first time since officially joining Leeds United.
Guilavogui has put pen-to-paper on a short-term deal until the end of the season and finally ends Leeds‘ search for a free agent signing.
Leeds had been scouring the market for potential options for a couple weeks following long-term injuries to both Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev, with Guilavogui among several options they considered.
Cheikhou Kouyate spent time at Thorp Arch in a bid to prove his fitness, while Christoph Kramer and Francis Coquelin were also tenuously linked.
However, Guilavogui is the man Daniel Farke really wanted, which was reflected in the fact he has been in attendance at Elland Road for both of Leeds’ last two matches.

Guilavogui shares what he told agent after Leeds interest
Guilavogui has been without a club since his release from Mainz in the summer and has been waiting patiently for the right opportunity to arise.
Farke made it clear on more than one occasion that he wanted to bring someone in capable of playing both in central midfield and centre-back.
Former France international Guilavogui is someone who fits that bill, but will of course know he is coming in as cover and competition for Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell.
Despite the fact game time may be limited, Guilavogui told his first interview with Leeds that he never had any hesitation about a potential move.
The 34-year-old claims he told his agent to go ‘straight to Leeds’ as soon as he knew about the interest, regarding it as an opportunity he simply couldn’t turn down.
He said: “Yeah of course I had some offers, but nothing that made me say let’s do it. But when my agent called me and told me Daniel is interested in signing me, I said yeah, let’s go straight to Leeds. Sometimes in the life you have some opportunities that you don’t have to miss, and I said let’s do it.”

When Leeds hope to have Guilavogui available
Guilavogui last played 90 minutes all the way back on March 30 earlier this year and so it will take him some time to get up to speed.
However, Farke was always well aware that would be the case for anyone who came in and it would appear Leeds want him available as soon as possible.
Leeds travel to Bristol City on Saturday and providing Guilavogui receives international clearance and a work permit, could be in the squad straight away.
