Frank Lampard looks set to get one over on Leeds United by tying down a player the Whites were linked with signing during the summer transfer window.
Daniel Farke was ultimately left frustrated by Leeds’ failure to bring in more attacking reinforcements, as they missed out on a deadline day to sign Harry Wilson from Fulham.
Leeds had been linked with a succession of attacking midfielders and forwards during the summer transfer window, but were left to settle for just two new additions to the forward line in Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Farke has been forced to watch on as several of his reported targets have impressed on their debuts for their new clubs, after Nico Gonzalez scored for Atletico Madrid and Mehdi Taremi bagged a quickfire double from the bench for Olympiakos.
Now, Lampard looks set to compound Farke’s frustration by tying down another of Leeds’ targets to a new contract.

Former Leeds United target set to commit future to Coventry City
Jack Rudoni was linked with a move to Elland Road during the summer transfer window, after impressing in the Championship with Coventry, having joined the Sky Blues in 2024.
Coventry held off interest in Rudoni from Southampton, and they now look set to secure their talented midfielder to a new long-term deal in a boost to Lampard.
A report by TalkSport states: “Coventry’s sought-after playmaker Jack Rudoni is close to putting pen to paper on a bumper new contract.”
Before continuing, “The Sky Blues rejected a big-money offer from Southampton in the summer transfer window. Rudoni, 24, is also on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs, including West Ham and Fulham.
“However, the former Huddersfield ace is happy at the CBS Arena and willing to commit his future to Frank Lampard’s promotion hopefuls.”

Leeds could renew rivalries with Frank Lampard in the near future
Leeds have a long rivalry with Lampard, which stretches back to his playing days, as he previously turned down a move to Elland Road to join Chelsea.
During his time as manager of Derby County, Lampard led the Rams to victory against Marcelo Bielsa’s side in the play-off semi-finals, in the infamous “Spygate” season, and he renewed his hostilities with Leeds at Everton and Chelsea.
With Lampard linked to the West Ham job in recent weeks, and his Coventry side sitting sixth in the Championship, there is a good chance Leeds could be facing a Lampard-led side on the field again in the near future.
