Fabrizio Romano says Leeds United have finally agreed terms on the signing of a free agent.
The Whites have been assessing the market for a number of weeks now following long-term knee injuries to both Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev.
Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell have firmly established themselves as an impressive midfield partnership since Leeds lost their two key men, but Daniel Farke has remained insistent on his desire to bring one in.
Cheikho Kouyate was the first to be invited to Thorp Arch in a bid to prove his fitness, though a move never materialised due to a reported failed medical.
Christoph Kramer, Francis Coquelin and Joshua Guilavogui have all also been linked, and it appears though they have finally given the green light to complete a deal.

Not only has Farke been keen on adding some cover in central midfield, but he has also made it clear that anyone who comes in also needs to be able play at centre-back.
That is exactly why Kouyate was the first player to be looked at by Leeds, but instead, it looks like former France international Guilavogui is the player of choice.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed via his Twitter account that Guilavogui has now signed his contract ahead of a move to Elland Road, with a move set to be confirmed soon.
Guilavogui was in attendance at Leeds’ win over Sheffield United on Friday and was once again pictured with a supporter in last night’s victory against Watford.
The 34-year-old will add plenty of experience to a young Leeds squad and arrives at an ideal time ahead of four games in relatively quick succession.
Graham Smyth echoes Romano Guilavogui reports
Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth has also provided an update on Leeds’ pursuit of Guilavogui.
Smyth has echoed reports from Romano that a deal is expected to be done imminently, confirming Guilavogui has been at Thorp Arch for a number of days proving his fitness.
He says Leeds are looking to wrap up a deal as soon as possible, which could seemingly be done as early as today.
