Leeds United are working hard on a number of exits this summer with Archie Gray the big name set to depart, but a £5m midfielder could be about to join him in the coming weeks.
Gray is closing in on a huge £40m move to Tottenham, which will see the England U21 become the third most-expensive departure in Leeds’ history behind Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha, who joined Barcelona.
It comes after Jack Harrison rejoined Everton, Marc Roca went to Betis, Sonny Perkins secured a loan to boyhood side Leyton Orient and Liam Cooper, Jamie Shackleton and Cody Drameh became free agents.
Charlie Cresswell has jetted off to France to join Toulouse for £3.8m, while Diego Llorente is expected to reunite with Roca at Betis. Junior Firpo is now expected to leave the club with his deal ending in 2025.
But another, who could be seen as Leeds’ forgotten man, could start pre-season at a Championship rival.

£5m midfielder could join Wayne Rooney’s side for pre-season
Incomings are not on the agenda just yet, other than securing a return for Joe Rodon which has been agreed as part of talks to take Gray to Spurs. Another that could now go is £5m midfielder Darko Gyabi.
Gyabi was one of a number of players that was seen as one that may benefit from Leeds being relegated. But he struggled for game time under Daniel Farke, and went on loan to Plymouth back in January.
He played 10 times for Argyle, double the amount of senior appearances he has made for Leeds since joining The Whites in 2022. Now, Leeds Live have an update regarding his future this summer.

A summer of change for Plymouth but Gyabi could sign on
Described as “excellent” by Ian Foster who was in charge following his arrival at Adam Forshaw’s side, Gyabi certainly made an impact as Plymouth managed to survive relegation from The Championship.
Wayne Rooney is now in charge at Plymouth ahead of the new campaign, after spells at Derby, DC United and then Birmingham City. He could decide to bring Gyabi back to Argyle come the start of 2024-25.
Leeds Live say that Gyabi may be missing from Leeds pre-season training today and instead, starts pre-season down in Devon. Plymouth will want a deal done soon before jetting off to Spain on July 7.
