Leeds United’s hopes of signing one of their rumoured summer transfer targets may have taken a hit, after the latest news coming out of Turkey.
Leeds United have already had strong links to several players so far in this summer transfer window, following their promotion to the Premier League.
Daniel Farke appears to be casting his net far and wide in a bid to bolster his side in time for the 2025/26 Premier League season and there seems to be a focus on attacking signings right now.
It looks as though Patrick Bamford will leave Leeds United this summer and that’ll leave just Golden Boot winner Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph as Farke’s options in that no.9 spot.
One potential attacking addition linked though is Semih Kilicsoy at Besiktas.

Besiktas make final decision on Semih Kilicsoy amid Leeds United rumours
It’s been reported that Besiktas are ready to sell Kilicsoy this summer and that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side want a fee of £8.5million for the four-cap Turkish international. It was then reported that Leeds United were set to bid for Kilicsoy this week.
But plans seem to have changed at Besiktas. Turkish outlet Milliyet are now reporting that ‘an important decision has been reached’ with regards to Kilicsoy who has failed to impress Besiktas officials this season, and the 19-year-old could now be loaned out.
Milliyet offer no suggestion of a permanent exit for Kilicsoy but instead write that Kilicsoy ‘could be loaned to a club where he will play regularly’. Whether he’d get regularly game time at Elland Road remains to be seen, leaving a potential deal for the attacker up in the air.

Leeds United have already missed out on one Turkish Super Lig player this summer
Unsurprisingly, this isn’t the first setback that Leeds United have had in the build up to the next summer transfer window. And it’s not the first setback they’ve had in pursuit of a Turkish Super Lig player either.
It’s recently been claimed that Bright Osayi-Samuel has agreed a move to Crystal Palace amid links to Leeds United throughout the year and leading into the summer.
That news and now this Kilicsoy news is a reminder of just how difficult it is to get ahead in the transfer market. But given the amount of rumours coming out right now, it looks like Leeds United are hard at work.
