The race is on to sign a Premier League winger this summer with Leeds United one of many clubs interested, but Dean Henderson says he is trying to convince him to join Sheffield United.
Daniel Farke’s side are on the lookout for a new winger this summer after rubber-stamping the sale of Crysencio Summerville to West Ham, with Leeds set to receive an initial of £25m plus more in add-ons.
Having already lost Ian Poveda and Jaidon Anthony this summer, Leeds are stretched out wide even with the surprise return of Brenden Aaronson. The USA star is naturally a no.10 but can play on the left wing.
Little surprise then that a whole host of Championship clubs are interested in raiding Henderson’s side Crystal Palace to sign winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi on loan, with Southampton now out of the picture.
Henderson wants Jesurun Rak-Sakyi to join Sheffield United
The Palace star sparkled on loan at Charlton in League One during 2022-23, and returned to Palace hopeful of a breakthrough last season. But the winger only managed to play eight senior matches.
Southampton made £7m and £12m bids to sign him but Palace do not want to sell Rak-Sakyi, and prefer to loan him to a Championship club. Leeds are one of 18 second-tier sides after Palace starlet Rak-Sakyi.
This morning, it was reported that Rak-Sakyi is to choose which club he joins on loan in the next few days after Southampton’s bids were turned down. Henderson responded to a Sheffield United supporter on X.
The England goalkeeper spent two years on loan with Chris Wilder’s Blades and a Sheffield United fan asked if he could tempt Rak-Sakyi to choose Palace, to which Henderson responded by saying: “I have”.

The “fantastic” Rak-Sakyi has a big decision to make this summer. He needs to wade through the interest and pick the Championship club that is best for him and Elland Road has got to be right up there
Leeds will be favourites to go and win promotion automatically in 2024-25. They will dominate matches though the need for wingers is large, with only Willy Gnonto and Dan James the senior options available.
Whether Leeds do a deal for Rak-Sakyi could depend on their success in talks with Daniel Farke’s old side Norwich over a move for Jonathan Rowe, with Leeds set to table a bid of £7m for the versatile player.
