Leeds United have conducted a summer fire sale of players with seven sold so far, including the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray and Glen Kamara this window.
The Yorkshire side have had to sell a couple of players in order to balance the books. The first, a tough one to take in the form of teen Gray, who completed a £40m move to Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham.
Summerville has left Leeds for West Ham, with the Dutch winger leaving for an initial £25m to join Julen Lopetegui’s side. It has left a few gaps in Farke’s squad and the German spoke on Thursday afternoon.
Ahead of The Championship opener against Portsmouth on Saturday at Elland Road, Farke spoke to the media and discussed replacing The Championship’s 2023-24 Player of the Season in winger Summerville.

Daniel Farke discusses replacing Crysencio Summerville at Leeds
Leeds have been linked with a number of wingers to replace Summerville. The main one obviously is Jonathan Rowe of Norwich City, after the 21-year-old scored 12 goals in The Championship last season.
It is claimed that Rowe will cost between £15m and £20m after Leeds initially tabled a £7m offer for Rowe. Speaking on Thursday on Leeds’ YouTube, he says it is impossible to try and replace Summerville.
“It’s no secret, Cree was named the best player in the Championship last season. Unbelievable impact. You can’t replace this player one on one. Simply not possible, you can’t have enough money to do this.”
“We want to add in his position, another player. But not a one-on-one replacement, it would put too much weight on the shoulders of a potential new incoming,” Farke said, in his first presser of the season.

Leeds fans all want the same player to replace Summerville
In the immediate aftermath of Summerville’s exit, all Leeds fans were saying the same thing on social media. They want Thorp Arch academy product Jack Clarke back at Elland Road from rivals Sunderland.
The chances of Leeds signing Clarke seem unlikely, with a move to the Premier League more on the cards for the former Tottenham winger. Rowe looks like the one Leeds are trying desperately to bring to Leeds.
