Leeds United may be bracing themselves for a battle to keep one Daniel Farke signing this summer, with a club’s sporting director confirming an interest in the player.
Daniel Farke will be hoping to keep the majority of the squad who so nearly secured promotion last season together, with the Whites doing extremely well to pick up the pieces after relegation.
One of the players who played a key role in Leeds’ run to the play-off final was Glen Kamara, with the Finland international largely impressing following a £5 million move from Rangers last year.

Kamara’s playing style does divide opinion at times. While no-one in the Leeds squad appears to retain possession in tight areas better than the 28-year-old, there was frustration from the fans at times that he was never the most adventurous on the ball. It will come as no surprise to any Whites fans that he did not score a single goal last season.
Rennes confirm interest in Glen Kamara
But he is attracting interest, with BBC journalist Adam Pope revealing on X that Rennes sporting Frederic Massara has confirmed that they have the midfielder on their radar…
Leeds fans will be split on potential midfielder sale
Leeds fans will be concerned about the prospect of Kamara leaving the club in this window, as Farke is already lacking depth in that area of the pitch.
Hopefully, Ethan Ampadu will feature there much more often this coming season, but the departure of Archie Gray leaves Leeds looking light in the middle of the park.
It is clear that new signings are already needed in midfield, and that need will increase further if Kamara is sold.
Having said that, Leeds do need to make smart business decisions in this window, so if Rennes are prepared to offer the Whites a profit on Kamara, then perhaps they will consider it – particularly if they have a number of potential targets lined up to possibly replace him.
