Perhaps the most important three areas Leeds United need to add to are in the goalkeeper, striker, and attacking midfielder areas.
Leeds United must start upping the ante regarding transfers and attacking midfield may be the most important area to add serious quality to.
Players from all over Europe and domestically are undoubtedly being tracked and considered. One of those with some long-term interest now is Eduard Spertsyan of FC Krasnodar in the Russian Super League.
Spertsyan idolises Iniesta and Jude Bellingham, and has been managed by Daniel Farke briefly back during the 2021/22 season before the Russian Super League was put on hold.

Celtic and Porto join list of clubs eyeing Spertsyan with Leeds
The £10 million-rated Krasnodar captain plans to leave the Russian Premier League challengers this summer. Back in February, Spertsyan admitted he was open to joining Leeds as well.
Spertsyan’s agent has been in talks with Leeds previously, with the Armenian’s representatives believed to have met Leeds. He was someone they looked at in January, but Leeds came up short in terms of acquiring a playmaker.
They cannot go any longer without one now and Spertsyan has been labelled ‘one of the best midfielders in Europe’ by one Russian football commentator. He was not just a player they looked at for the Championship, either.
Leeds are still tracking Spertsyan but they are not alone in that, with FC Porto and Celtic also keeping tabs on the player this summer, according to Mezzala Futbol & Scout on X.
It appears as though the 24-year-old may have played in his last season in Russia, with a move elsewhere in Europe now growing ever more likely. If Leeds are serious about Spertsyan as an option, then they need to firm up their interest with a bid.

Leeds have to find a Brenden Aaronson upgrade for the Premier League
The Armenian is one of his country’s best players, with Spertsyan winning Player of the Year in 2022 to underline just how productive he has been in recent seasons with Krasnodar.
Simply put, Leeds need an upgrade on Brenden Aaronson. That’s more in terms of creativity and output than intensity and effort. The question is how much weight should be put on Premier League experience?
The 49ers have ambitions of climbing back towards European football but survival is paramount first and foremost. The way to recruit for that is vastly different to a top-half finish.
They need someone Premier League proven or with experience in one of the other major European leagues. We have looked at some potential Aaronson replacements already but Spertsyan ought to be considered as well.
