It is looking increasingly likely that one Leeds United target will be on the move in the coming days after being left out of the matchday squad for the first time this season on Tuesday.

Leeds fans are patiently waiting to see what moves the club will make over the coming weeks. While the Whites have put themselves in a fantastic position in the Premier League, it is not the time to become complacent.

West Ham have already brought in two signings, while Nottingham Forest will also be wary of letting the window close without further additions.

Interestingly, it is a player not in the West Ham squad for Tuesday’s six-pointer that will be of interest to some Leeds fans.

Leeds United target misses out on matchday squad for first time this season

Reports from Claret & Hugh on Tuesday claimed that Leeds are interested in a deal for Callum Wilson.

The report claimed that West Ham are ready to let Wilson leave this month after signing Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe.

It is noted that Wilson particularly appeals to the Leeds hierarchy due to the club’s PSR situation.

And those hoping to see the 33-year-old move to Elland Road in the coming weeks will take encouragement from Wilson not being named in Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.

It is the first time that Wilson – who has had injury issues during his career – has been missing from the West Ham squad.

Callum Wilson could be the signing that confirms Leeds’ survival this season

Clearly, Wilson is not the kind of signing that is going to capture the imagination of Leeds fans. He has scored in just three league games since moving to the London Stadium.

However, if he becomes available on a free transfer this month, it is surely a no-brainer for Leeds to bring him in until the summer.

Do YOU want Leeds to sign Callum Wilson? 🤔

It would be SO sweet if he helps us survive while Taty Castellanos and Pablo Felipe take West Ham down 🤣

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin exceeding expectations since his arrival last year, and Lukas Nmecha also proving to be a decent signing, adding Wilson to the ranks could be the move which confirms Leeds’ survival for next season.

Ultimately, if he can score a handful of goals, the move would be vindicated.

Wilson would also feel that he has a point to prove as West Ham seemingly close in on the baffling decision to let him go.
