Leeds United could come up against a number of former players next season if they are promoted from the Championship.
The Whites currently sit second in the table on 79 points from 37 matches and have the chance to move top of the league with a win of two or more goals against Millwall on Sunday.
With so many first teamers departing last summer after relegation, there were a few of them who made the move to Premier League sides, including Luis Sinisterra and Tyler Adams to Bournemouth – both of which are now permanent.
Jack Harrison also made the loan switch to Everton and providing they stay up and sign him, which Sean Dyche reportedly wants, he could also come up against the Whites.
But according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, there is another shock player who may come head-to-head with Leeds and that is Weston McKennie, who is now said to have his eyes on a return to the Premier League.
McKennie wants Premier League return
McKennie joined Leeds on loan for the rest of the season from Juventus last January but endured the most torrid time at Elland Road and so went back to Juventus.
He had looked surplus to requirements at Juve but has managed to force his way into being a first team regular again, registering an impressive seven assists in Serie A.
However, McKennie is out of contract in Italy next summer and as per the report, initial talks over a new deal have yet to bring an agreement between the two parties.
With that in mind, McKennie is now said to have his eyes back on a move back to England, as he looks to prove himself in this country after such a poor spell at Leeds.
If Leeds were to get promoted, it would certainly be interesting to see the type of reception he would get, considering under his own admission, he was not fit or good enough.
