Tyler Adams is not the most popular man amongst the Leeds fanbase.
The United States international jumped ship after Leeds were relegated at the end of the 2022/23 campaign, sealing a £20m move to Bournemouth just 12 months into a five-year contract at Elland Road.
It irked Angus Kinnear and Leeds fans that the American opted against staying in Yorkshire for at least one season to try and help the club immediately bounce back to the Premier League.
Now – after a report from Ben Jacobs – Tyler Adams could be set to annoy supporters once again.
Daniel Farke’s job is safe for now, can he get a result against Brentford? 🔮
Tyler Adams has Manchester United decision to make as former Leeds United man wanted at Old Trafford
Speaking on YouTube for The United Stand, Jacobs said: “A new name that Manchester United are looking at – at the moment – is Tyler Adams, who is doing very well at Bournemouth.
“There is a possibility that Tyler Adams moves in 2026. As far as I’m aware, it would be more for the summer rather than anything leading up to a big World Cup and a home World Cup for him.”
Obviously, it would not go down well with Leeds fans if this move materialised, given the bitter rivalry between Manchester United and the Whites.
With Adams – who Leeds fans booed earlier this season – already firmly disliked at Elland Road, he would make himself almost something of a super villain if he teamed up with Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.
Tyler Adams could join an exclusive club containing just 15 players to have represented both Leeds United and Manchester United
Over the years, there have been 15 players brave enough to represent both clubs.
Which former Leeds player would you have back, if you could pick one? Raphinha surely has to be up there💎
Jack Butland is the most recent player to tick both boxes, joining Manchester United on loan from Crystal Palace in January 2023 – despite making 16 appearances on loan at Leeds in 2014.
You can see the entire list of players to have represented both clubs below.
- Cameron Borthwick-Jackson
- Jack Butland
- Eric Cantona
- Rio Ferdinand
- Lee Sharpe
- Largie Ramazani
- Joe Rothwell
- Alan Smith
- Danny Webber
- Scott Wootton
- Dan James
- David Healy
- Liam Miller
- Danny Pugh
- Paul Rachubka
Adams said he respects Leeds and still thinks fondly of the Whites when asked how it felt to be booed, so it will be interesting to see if he makes the provocative move to Manchester United in 2026.
