Leeds United produced arguably their best performance of the season to dispatch Coventry City 3-0 at Elland Road. Here are our player ratings from the match.
Illan Meslier – 7
Didn’t do much wrong but was as much of a spectator as 34,000 other Leeds fans for the vast majority of the game. Brilliant save at the end to preserve Leeds’ clean sheet.
Jayden Bogle – 8
Back-to-back performances where Bogle has looked really good. Constantly making runs down that right-hand-side, and was rewarded by scoring his first goal for the club.
Joe Rodon – 7
Recovered from a couple of iffy passes early on to work his way into the game and look very, very assured. Defended Ellis Simms really well too.
Pascal Struijk – 7
Like Rodon, defended really well up against Simms, during the brief times he was called into action. As always, very tidy on the ball other than one sloppy bit of play just after the break.
Junior Firpo – 7
Inch perfect assist to set up Wilfried Gnonto‘s excellent goal and like Bogle on the other side, was constantly getting forward throughout.

Ethan Ampadu – 7
Was so good until he was forced off with an injury in the 40th minute. Typically, it was a strong challenge by Ampadu to win the ball back high up the field that caused the issue.
Ilia Gruev – 8
Probably Gruev’s best performance of the season. Played some really good, forward passes and continued to do so even when Ampadu went off.
Wilfried Gnonto – 9
Like his old friend Crysencio Summerville last year, was the one being kicked, pulled and pushed by Coventry. But he kept getting on the ball, scored an incredible goal and got an assist.
Brenden Aaronson – 7
Everything you would want in a number 10. Created some good openings, carried the ball well, but did fade a tad as each half went on.
Largie Ramazani – 7
A real, real livewire and while he may not have made the right decision every time, was a constant thorn in Coventry’s side. Got his first assist for the club for Bogle.
Mateo Joseph – 7
Some of his link-up play was an absolute joy to behold and it was just a shame he did not finish off from his own darting run in the first half.

Ao Tanaka – 7
Was the man chosen to replace Ampadu after his injury and the biggest compliment he can be played is Leeds continued to dominate after he came on. Brilliant forward pass that led to Leeds’ third.
Joel Piroe – 7
Off the bench to wrap another game for Leeds with his third of the season. That’s looking like a role that suits him.
