Leeds United made eight summer signings and sold eight players as Daniel Farke’s side were forced to stage a mini-rebuild this summer but perhaps, they should have sold another.
The likes of Georginio Rutter, Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray and more were offloaded by Leeds in the summer window. Leeds had to sell, but did bring in replacements for the players that left Leeds.
Even if it took until the final day to confirm two more signings in the form of Ao Tanaka and Isaac Schmidt as Farke finally saw his request heeded. He asked for cover in the middle of the park and at full-back.
Leeds now look well-stocked in most positions ahead of the remaining 42 Championship matches, apart from the no.10 position. But, perhaps up top, they should have listened to offers for a big-earning player.

Leeds should have entertained offers for striker Patrick Bamford
A fit, raring-to-go Bamford is an unbelievable asset in England’s second tier. But it has been a long time since he has been at his best. A brilliant best, which saw him score 17 goals in the 20-21 Premier League.
That was a long time ago and the one-time England man is injury prone. A player constantly disrupted by injury and for a striker that relies on confidence and form, it is difficult for the £10m man to show his best.
Leeds have given him chance after chance, but given he is one of the big earners at the club, maybe his latest injury was a step too far. The Whites should have listened to offers and made Bamford available.

Leeds told they cannot rely on Bamford anymore after injury
Bamford is likely to be injured for the entirety of the international break and possibly afterwards too, when Leeds face Burnley on September 14. In the meantime, Joel Piroe scored for Leeds on Saturday.
Even if Bamford was fit, there’s no doubt that Piroe starts up top if Mateo Joseph is unavailable. Bamford is now third choice and Neil Redfearn even said Leeds and Farke can no longer rely on Leeds’ no.9.
He is on too much money to be third choice and producing the iffy, 80% performances Leeds fans have come accustomed too with Bamford. The 49ers should have put him in the market and tried to sell him.
