With the transfer window shut, much has been discussed about how much Leeds United actually made from player sales and below, we assess the actual figure Leeds raked in.

A frustrating window that saw Leeds wave goodbye to some of their best players and indeed, the best player in the entire division in the form of Crysencio Summerville who ended up at West Ham United.

Summerville’s exit saw raked in a £25m fee, and £9m in add-ons. Those add-ons are structured as follows; £5m for performance-related achievements, and £4m when Summerville wins his first Netherlands cap.

Summerville’s potential £34m fee was not even Leeds’ biggest sale of the window. Both Tottenham and Brighton struck £40m release clauses in the contracts of Archie Gray and Georginio Rutter this summer.

Leeds clocked up £114m from just Gray, Summerville and Rutter

It is believed that both Gray and Rutter’s deals saw Leeds receive £40m in full, though the chances are that Leeds may receive that fee over a period of time. So, a potential £114m from just three departures.

Glen Kamara is believed to have cost Rennes a fee of £8.4m, almost doubling Leeds’ outlay on him. Then, the exits of Charlie Cresswell, Marc Roca, Diego Llorente and Kristoffer Klaesson, who is now a free agent.

Cresswell cost Ligue 1 side Toulouse a fee of £3.8m after falling out with Daniel Farke over a lack of game time. His exit was inevitable but perhaps, his choice of club has come as a surprise as he moves to France.

Leeds have made about £100m in profit on players

Then, Roca and Llorente were offloaded simply to get them off the books. Roca and Llorente cost the club a combined £28m, but they were sold for just £6.5m – Roca at £4m, and Llorente at £2.5m to Real Betis.

Finally, Klaesson left for Polish side Rakow but after being spotted in McDonald’s he has been released. It is believed Klaesson’s fee was pretty nominal or a free, given his years of service to Leeds as third choice.

Those figures then saw Leeds rake in a total of £132.7m, not including Luis Sinisterra and Tyler Adams’ fees for joining Bournemouth. With Leeds paying around £33m on new players, it’s about £100m of profit.
