A Premier League table doing the rounds on social media over the last few days suggests that Leeds United have not improved too much, as they find themselves in the same position after the same number of games as last season.
The jury is still somewhat out on Jesse Marsch – as much as most supporters would love to see the American prove a success at Elland Road.
But it does appear that the squad is better equipped – for various reasons – to get themselves away from trouble this season.
There is more depth with fewer injuries this time around. There is also a January window ahead where Leeds must do business.
But it is also fair to say that several players within the ranks have stepped up their game this season. And with that, LUN’s awards carries on, with the next category being the most improved players in the ranks…

MORE LEEDS STORIES
3. Illan Meslier
Last year was tough for Illan Meslier. Too much was asked of the Frenchman. And ultimately, Leeds’ defensive woes brought the youngster down also.
However, this season, Meslier has looked to be back to his best. He has produced some massive performances – most notably in the win at Liverpool – and made some absolutely vital saves.
2. Crysencio Summerville
Had Leeds fans been asked last season whether they saw a future for Crysencio Summerville at Elland Road, the reaction may have been mixed.
His performances for the under-23s were amazing. But he was not able to really force his way into the first-team fold. And when he did, he did not exactly stand out.
But those of us who doubted him have been proved wrong emphatically. Summerville has been unbelievable in recent weeks, scoring four goals in his last four games.
That includes late winners against Liverpool and Bournemouth.
His challenge is to maintain something like this ‘exceptional‘ form. But goodness, he has been electric.

1. Rodrigo
Of course, Summerville is not the only player to score in his last four games. Rodrigo is now on nine for the campaign, and silencing his doubters at a rapid rate.
Admittedly, some of us are still not entirely convinced by the Spaniard. He does not always appear to suit the style. And there have been some costly mistakes. But you absolutely cannot question his record this season.
At his current rate, he would comfortably clear 20 goals for the campaign. And that would be massive for Leeds given our current situation.
