Leeds United have already staged a rather sizable fire sale this summer with seven sold, five leaving on loan and plenty more players departing on a free at the end of their contract.
Crysencio Summerville is the latest to go, joining West Ham for an initial £25m. The Dutchman follows the likes of Archie Gray, Glen Kamara and Charlie Cresswell being sold by The Whites in the last few weeks.
Jack Harrison and Sam Greenwood are two of five to go on loan, while plenty have left after their Leeds deals expired. But four more players could still leave Leeds before the end of the transfer window.
Max Wober
Daniel Farke has made it clear that Wober is back at Leeds, alongside Brenden Aaronson. But there is a feeling that Aaronson wants to be back, while Wober is only back because Gladbach couldn’t afford him.
Gladbach had Wober on loan last season and sporting director Roland Virkus has hinted that the German club could move for Wober later in the window. He’s likely to start on the bench against Portsmouth.
Wilfried Gnonto
The most-obvious player that could still depart is Italy star Gnonto. With his best mate Summerville going, it would not come as a surprise to see the former Inter and Zurich winger leave in the coming few weeks.
Everton are said to have table a bid of £23m for Gnonto, while both Parma, Venezia and Genoa are keen to lure him back to Italy. But with Summerville gone, Leeds are lacking out wide and will try to keep him.
Junior Firpo
Left-back Firpo is in the final year of his contract and while the “relentless” star remains a key player at Elland Road, Leeds will be aware that clubs could be targeting the left-back given his current situation.
Former side Real Betis have been linked with Firpo, and Leeds have a decision to make. Sell now and get some cash, let him continue and risk losing him on a free, or desperately try to pin him to a new deal.
Joe Gelhardt
Gelhardt has worked hard during pre-season but the form of Mateo Joseph, a rejuvenated Joel Piroe and a returning Patrick Bamford means Gelhardt will be fourth-choice striker under Farke ahead of 2024-25.
He is a Championship-level striker and perhaps, has the potential to be even better. But right now, there is little space for Gelhardt to break in and he needs to go on loan before the end of the summer window.
