The January window is fast approaching, and despite Robbie Evans’ concerns about PSR, all the signs suggest Leeds United will be active come the winter market.
While Evans claims any move will see Leeds exceed PSR, LeedsUnited.News understands there is money to spend and there is room to make new signings if the club sees fit. Leeds tried to sign Harry Wilson.
Which position do Leeds United need to strengthen most in January?
Explain why!
Proof that either there is room and money for Leeds to make a new signing, or that Leeds are willing to go over the PSR line. Since the summer window, Leeds have been linked with a whole host of attackers.
The latest is Como’s Martin Baturina. According to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds have made an approach to sign Baturina this week. But Cesc Fabregas’ Serie A side does not want to sell, and Baturina is happy.

Martin Baturina’s interest is bad news for Brenden Aaronson
Meanwhile, Aaronson came off the bench on Saturday to lay on an assist for Anton Stach. A brilliant bit of play that saw Leeds draw level for the first time, before Leeds came back to secure a late 3-3 draw.
Aaronson was booed as he entered the field of play, somewhat harsh given that the American is giving his all and played a key role for Leeds on the night. He has three goals and assists in the Premier League.
Yet, Aaronson will not be encouraged by the latest update. The news of Leeds wanting Baturina is simply not good news for the American, a player who plays as a right-sided winger or an attacking midfielder.
Do you think Martin Baturina would be a good signing? 🔥
Baturina scores screamer and assists as Dinamo Zagreb draw 2-2 with Monaco.
Baturina is similar to Aaronson. Technically gifted, creative. Even if Leeds aren’t going to sign Baturina, it is clear that this is a position that Leeds wants to improve. Hence, the interest in Fulham and Wales’ Wilson.
Aaronson needs to consider January exit to save World Cup hopes
With Leeds looking to add an attacker that can play in between the lines, Aaronson’s position at Elland Road is clearly in danger. That will come as a concern for the Medford Messi, in a World Cup year.
Leeds United fans told they’re being unfair on Brenden Aaronson 🗣️
Especially, a home World Cup. A competition in which Aaronson will be desperate to play. As things stand, Aaronson is on the fringes of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad and needs to be playing regularly.
At the moment, he is. But the signing of a Baturina, a Wilson or another attacking midfielder with similar qualities will reduce Aaronson’s game time in the second half of the season. He may need to seek an exit.
