Leeds United currently look well-placed for an immediate return to the Premier League this season.
The Whites sit third in the Championship with 73 points from 35 matches in what has been a standard of promotion race that has never been seen before.
However, in Daniel Farke, Leeds are the only one of the top four to have a manager with experience of a Championship promotion race, having twice won the title with Norwich City thanks to brilliant second halves of the season.
Much of the success of Leeds’ campaign so far can be attributed to the quality of their summer transfer window, even if they did miss out on a whole host of key targets.
One of those they tried but failed to sign was Gustavo Hamer, who opted for a £15 million move to Sheffield United instead, but he must now be really regretting his decision not to move to Leeds.

Hamer is currently apart of one of the worst Premier League sides of all time, with last night’s 6-0 defeat to Arsenal the third home match in a row they have lost by a margin of five or more.
The Blades sit bottom of the table on 13 points and are well adrift of safety, and it certainly would not be inaccurate to say Leeds have a better chance of playing Premier League football next season than them.
Hamer had actually been interested in joining Leeds until Sheffield United swooped in. A move to Elland Road would’ve enabled him to pick up where he left off at Coventry City, which was a midfielder who both scored and created.
However, at Bramall Lane, Hamer has scored just twice all season, the last of which came in September. He was forced to play out on the left last night, which just simply is not his best position.
The 26-year-old could barely touch the ball against Arsenal, but had he joined Leeds, he would’ve been apart of a side who dominate most weeks, which would’ve suited him perfectly.
